Research at the leading edge requires strong financial and
technological support. UBC Researchers are encouraged and
assisted in applying for research support from over 450 sources
and over 1000 different programs depending on the type of
research and the type of project.
UBC gives practical guidance and support for researchers
in their endeavours by providing services focused on the
identification of potential funding sources, assistance with
application process and the help with meeting the administrative
demands of award management. This guidance is provided by
the Office of Research Services for non industry agencies
such as federal and provincial funding councils and the University-Industry
Liaison Office (UILO) for funding from industry agencies,
private companies and corporations.
The Office of Research Services has traditionally maintained
a database
of research funding programs. ORS is working on the new reporting system for the database. The database query is shut down until the new system ready.
